msearchdisearchely cle Forum Kissing at' Kissing going on. The filthy, ink-spattered pages that comprise the first portion of the book are a beautiful mess. They're as good as anything he's ever done, full of kinetic energy and with a city that screams right off the page. Natalie falling off a building, with a punctuation-less "help" floating in a word balloon, is one of the most beautiful pages in the book, not to mention his amazing full spread of a masked terrorist. Natalie and the Fixer look fantastic swinging around the city, particularly the sense of motion evoked when Natalie uses Fixer's cape to help her maneuver.I find it amusing that people call this book "propaganda" and think it's a insight, when Miller himself has been referring to it as such for years before it was published. It's meant to be offensive propaganda. I'm not sure what it accomplishes, but at least his aim was true.
As for the rest, why can't people in this country get their heads out of their asses? Religion doesn't get the benefit that race and gender do. You can't equate the IRA with Al Qaeda. The KKK was a great example though. Thing is, Christianity is at fault there just as much as Islam is at fault concerning Al Qaeda. Both groups use religious indoctrination to pull in new members and justify their agendas, without which they simply would not have the kind of power they do (or did). However, the immoral and offensive nature of our holy books (which all either encourage, justify, or outright demand sacrifice, slavery, murder, and so on) is what allows this to happen. Without the immoral foundations of Christianity and Islam, these groups would struggle to convince youths to join in their hateful crusades. We will never be free or equal as long as we allow ourselves to be pulled into pointless conflicts because of archaic ideas from a primitive age.
Miller's point of view is as black / white as the art. The story is very simple and simply told - it is a revenge story. Revenge against the murderous Islamist-extremists who would murder innocents in the name of Allah. No apologies are asked and none are given for fighting these bastards with whatever will rid the earth of these creatures. In their world, stoning a woman is a fun past time, like when we go see the latest mindless action movie. We need more artists like Miller.

Sad.
@marinoismyname
I think you misinterpreted the writer's view on the faith aspect of the novel. Your assumption that the reviewer is naive to 'think all terrorists from that region aren't Islamic' is skewed. The writer makes no mention of believing terrorists from predominantly Islamic states might not be Islamic. What was said, is that making terrorism and Islam itself synonymous is just plain wrong. The suffragettes were terrorists, that doesn't mean all women are terrorists. The IRA are terrorists, that doesn't mean all Irish people are terrorists. There was no attack on Christianity here, the KKK statement was emphasizing that you can't judge a majority on the actions of the minority.
I think the reviewer did a great job of balancing views here.
